Great place to get away. Fun and different then just staying at a hotel. Exceptional service, great breakfast and accommodations my only regret is we only stayed one night. Anyone young or old, looking to get away this is the perfect place. We will be back!

The lovely Kingsley House in Fennville, Michigan is an easy 2.5 hour drive from Chicago in a quaint little hamlet hugging the western shore of Lake Michigan.

We enjoyed our second visit to Kingsley House over the Thanksgiving weekend, this time under new ownership.

Our return visit was as good (if not better) than our first in 2013.

A great old edifice (dating back 130 years which is cared for meticulously, from the cozy parlor and dining room just inside the front entrance, to the antique-filled upstairs bedrooms.

New wonder (and SF transplant) Chuck is gregarious and hospitable. He already knows the local era well and wants your visit to be memorable — not only in his grand home, but the town of Fennville and SW Michigan as well (BTW, Fennville is a 6-mile drive from Saugatuck, one of the Midwest’s great idyllic little towns).

Great accommodations, delicious breakfast and wonderful little touches, like a free wine tasting for 2 at the neighboring Fenn Valley winery and Ghiradelli chocolates in each of the rooms. The place just exudes charm, history, warmth and camaraderie.

If you go, make sure to visit the local 4-star eatery three blocks away — Salt of the Earth, which offers a wonderful menu of food and wine.

Spent one night at Kingsley House. Chuck was an outstanding host throughout. He was responsive from the initial contact. He also paved the way for dinner at our favorite place to eat in SW Michigan. Kingsley House was extremely comfortable and quiet. Chuck prepared a wonderful breakfast before we hit the road. A very nice weekend.

We had a great time! Everything was awesome. Is a nice romantic b&b. Breakfast was homemade to our requests. The inn keepers are so nice and accommodating. Great place and would highly recommend. It’s located in a great area with wineries and breweries close by. Great farm to table restaurants in town and by Saugatuck/Douglas.

We went here for our honeymoon. The owner, Chuck, was most kind and helpful. He also cooks delicious breakfasts, and is very mindful of any dietary needs. Secluded, but close enough to good dining and shopping areas, and the place is easy to find. Highly recommend.

Chuck went above and beyond my expectations during our stay, meeting our every need, even before we asked! He surely has the gift of hospitality which made our anniversary getaway exactly what the doctor ordered.

The rooms and grounds were very Victorian in their styling, and everything we needed was right in Fennville. I had anticipated going to Saugatuck for one of the days, but the beautiful downtown shops and restaurants are a short walk away, and Fenn Valley winery is a beautiful bicycle distance.

This B & B was the perfect retreat for us! It was a short drive from home and easy to find. We were greeted by Chuck on arrival. He was very welcoming with showing us the house and truly bringing the history of the house to life. This charming B & B is the perfect romantic getaway. There is surprisingly a lot to do and see in the Fennville and the surrounding cities. Pumpkin patches, apple orchards, winery’s, cider mills and plenty of shops to explore.

We will be back for many more stays at this charming B & B!

Chuck went over the top to insure we had a fantastic 34th anniversary getaway. After a warm greeting and tour we settled into the Granny Smith room which has a king size, comfortable bed and nice views out to the front and side yards. There was a nice padded window seat and a good size closet. The bathroom was small but everything was very clean. You’ll enjoy the beautiful, large wrap around porch with lots of seating that overlooks the well kept yard. There were lots of sweet treats, coffee/tea and bottled water available in the common area. Chuck called ahead for us to the Salt of the Earth restaurant where we had a fantastic dinner! Thanks for helping to make our anniversary a memorable one.
