Michigan’s strawberry season is here!

If the strawberry crop we are getting here in Southwest Michigan is any indication, we will be having a great year for Michigan fresh produce and u-pick orchards and farms.  Driving from Saugatuck to South Haven on Blue Star Highway, one can find quite a few places to stop and pick your own fresh strawberries right now.  The fresh produce stands and farmer’s markets in Holland, Saugatuck and Holland are all sure to have them soon as well.  One of our favorite ways to use them this time of year is just as they are…freshly served to guests as a part of our bed and breakfast buffet breakfast table.  Why hide them in baking when they are so sweet and delicious this time of year, right?
